Vehicle OverviewGTX Vehicle Description
This 1969 Plymouth GTX tribute convertible showcases the best that Mopar had to offer during the muscle car era. Completely restored by S&S Mopar Muscle of California, it sports a pumped up 440 V8 under the hood with extremely rare factory air conditioning.
Originally a Plymouth Sport Satellite RP series convertible, it was one of only 818 made. The factory AC option and heavy-duty front end sway bar elevates it to a class of only a select few. To make this GTX stand out from all others, the body was soaked in House of Kolors high gloss black and polished to a mirror like finish. Accompanying the extremely straight body are the highly polished chrome features that accent the stunning paint job. Tie all this together with Year One 17" aluminum alloy Rally Replicas.
The tight-fitting Robbins power convertible top adds plenty of distinction to this already beautiful package. Inside you will find a well apportioned factory black interior that is virtually flawless. The interior retains its factory presentation, right down to the premium wood paneling and AM radio that still works. The bucket seats, full instrument panel, with factory tachometer give it that true muscle car appeal. A custom-built sound system from Audio Shop of California allows for mp3 use without compromising the original interior.
Under the hood you'll find an equally appealing package. Power comes from the largest engine Chrysler produced, the revered 440 cubic-inch big block. This built engine boasts aluminum heads, roller rockers on top of a factory purple shaft cam. Painstaking effort was taken placing vehicle correct parts under the hood giving it that factory appearance. With 9.2 to 1 compression and oversized RV radiator its built to run cool on a summer's day even with the factory installed AC powered by a Vintage Air compressor. Behind the built engine is the beefed up factory 727 trans and 3:23 ratio pos-traction third member. With 635ft lbs of torque and 520hp this GTX has no problem smoking the tires thru first and well into second gear per the owner.
This is a rare Mopar turned into an even more powerful tribute with this high caliber build.
A complete folder of receipts and timeline of restoration shows the progress and attention to detail that was given to this beauty. Additional pictures of restoration can be provided upon request.
